Each year, Derby Grammar stages a whole-school production providing opportunities for all ages and abilities to get involved in a live dramatic performance, be it a pantomime, play or musical.
We completely understand that not everyone enjoys being in the spotlight and so, there are a huge variety of important behind the scene roles to suit everyone from the creation of scenery, to audio and lighting technical support.
Much like for music, we have specialist peripatetic teachers who come into school to offer private drama lessons. Within these, pupils can develop transferable skills such as communication and public speaking. Pupils have the option of working towards a nationally recognised London Academy of Music & Dramatic Art (LAMDA) qualification, with the support of our professionals.
