Hello!

This week I wanted to talk about the various tests that students have to take when applying for University. I am sure in my day you just had to get good grades but times change and now excellent grades are the minimum requirements. Increasingly universities are interviewing prospective students and for certain courses there are also specialist examinations.

The three that our students do most frequently are the National admissions test for law (LNAT), BioMedical admissions test (BMAT) and University clinical aptitude test (UCAT). Different universities require different tests so it is essential to check the university website to see their requirements. They are designed to test such things as problem solving, critical thinking and written communication skills that are essential to university-level study.

Today’s link takes you to the UCAS page on admissions tests if you would like to find out more information.

As always, don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions or enquiries. And if you are attending our open day on Saturday please pop over and say hello.
